Sean M. Heuvel is a faculty member at Christopher Newport University (CNU), in Newport News, Virginia, where he teaches in the Department of Leadership and American Studies. He holds a B.A. in Government and M.Ed. in Higher Education Adminstration from the College of William and Mary, and an M.A. in History from the University of Richmond. Heuvel is also currently pursuing a doctorate in Higher Education Administration at William and Mary. An active scholar in the fields of history and leadership studies, he has written numerous books as well as articles for refereed journals, encyclopedias, and magazines. His interests include military history and leadership (focusing on the American Revolution, the Civil War, and World War II), higher education history, and the college presidency. Active in foreign study programs at CNU, Heuvel has also lectured at Harris Manchester College, Oxford University, in the United Kingdom. He and his family live in Williamsburg, Virginia.
